Decedant Drams Loch Lomond 15 years

Score: 86

Tasted: July 2026 | Rank: 1 | 5th Whisky Tasting
Region: Highlands

The Decadent Drams Loch Lomond 15 Year Old is one of those bottlings that instantly shows why independent casks from this distillery can outshine the official range. Built from a marriage of Loch Lomond’s weightier, oil‑rich malt and Inchmurrin’s bright, tropical straight‑neck‑still spirit, it hits a sweet spot of texture, fruit, and energy. At 53% ABV, it carries enough power to stay vivid and expressive without ever feeling hot or unruly. The nose is packed with melon, peach, citrus, and soft vanilla; the palate layers orchard fruit, tropical brightness, gentle waxiness, and that signature Loch Lomond oily glide. It’s playful, characterful, and unmistakably “Decadent” in its cask‑driven charm. In the Loch Lomond tasting, it came first because it simply outperformed everything else on the table. Tasters locked onto its clarity of flavour, the way the fruit popped without becoming sweet, and how the oily backbone gave it structure and length. Where other expressions leaned too grassy, too dry, or too shy, this one delivered balance, personality, and a finish that kept evolving. It was the whisky that made people sit up, compare their notes, and nod in agreement, the one that felt complete. In a lineup known for quirky contrasts, the Decadent Drams 15 was the bottle that tied Loch Lomond’s dual styles together and showed them at their best. *Club Notes* "Perfection" "Various fruit that opens up into light vanilla and mocha on the nose. Vanilla and creamy tropical fruit, light oily texture. Lingering creamy mouthfeel, light elements of green fruit." "Rich and full all rounder" "Tim says anti money laundering, but I say "Am I Mommy Lundying? Then I realize I did not drive from the hitt to Palmy. But this Dram did! Fucking lovely."
