Glenmorangie Lasanta
Score: 69
Glenmorangie Lasanta 12 year old entered its club tasting with quiet confidence and walked away with a respectable 4th place finish. Finished in Oloroso and Pedro Ximénez sherry casks, it leans into its name, Lasanta, Gaelic for “Warmth and Passion”, with a soft, sweet, and smooth profile. Think raisins, plums, orange peel, and a touch of spice, all wrapped in a silky texture that’s easy to sip and hard to dislike. But while it’s a pleasant dram when you’re in the mood, it didn’t quite rise to the top. In a tasting full of bold personalities and layered complexity, Lasanta felt a little too safe. “Nothing too flashy,” as the club put it, just a nice whisky that plays well in the background. It’s the kind of bottle you reach for on a quiet evening, not one that rewrites the club’s narrative. Solid, warm, and well-made, but not a showstopper.
