Glen Scotia Campbeltown Malts Festival 2024 9 years
Score: 73
Glen Scotia Campbeltown Malts Festival 2024 9 Year Old is a limited edition release crafted to celebrate the annual whisky gathering in Scotland’s smallest whisky region. This unpeated single malt was matured in first-fill bourbon casks and finished for a minimum of six months in Fino sherry casks, then bottled at cask strength—56.2% ABV—with natural colour and no chill-filtration. The nose is fresh and floral, leading into a palate of lemon citrus, white orchard fruits, and oak spice. The finish is long, satisfyingly dry, and carries Glen Scotia’s signature maritime salinity. It’s a bright, youthful dram that captures the spirit of the festival with finesse and coastal charm. CLUB TASTING NOTES "This is clearly a young whiskey that was on its way to become something better but had to attend a festival. The nose is a bit sharp and immature as is the flavour. The finish isn’t much different either and is a bit harsh. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not a bad whiskey but it’s definitely not a good one. Decent." "Nice nose. Really don't like the finish." "Taste and aroma blend but a very punchy and bit over powering finish." "Yum nose, a little harsh taste and short finish." "When are we having an AI taster? Cos this one tastes like ones and zeros."
