Amrut Fushion

Score: 64

Amrut Fusion didn’t just arrive—it detonated. One of the earliest club tastings featured this Indian powerhouse, and its impact was immediate and unforgettable. Members were divided, intrigued, and slightly stunned. It was the kind of whisky that didn’t ask for your attention, it seized it. Extremely bold, raw, and explosive, Fusion delivered a barrage of spice notes that felt almost elemental. The nose was a collision of Amrut’s signature funk, super spicy, super earthy, with a strange, organic peat that bordered on the rotten. It was weird. It was wild. And it was absolutely one of a kind. On the palate, it was very, very, very on your face. A whisky that might objectively be, at the same time, one of the most complex and one of the least subtle drams on the market. Not something you’d reach for daily, but something you’d never forget. It was a sensory riot, challenging, chaotic, and deeply compelling. But with all that intensity came division. Some hailed it as genius, others recoiled at its lack of restraint. That split reaction ultimately saw it land 5th out of 6 in the rankings, a respectable finish for a whisky that refused to play nice.
