Talisker Wilder Seas Parley

Score: 67

Talisker Parley Wilder Seas is a distinctive single malt Scotch whisky finished in French Oak XO Cognac casks—a first for Talisker. This maritime-inspired release is housed in a 100% recycled bottle, reflecting its partnership with Parley for the Oceans, an initiative dedicated to ocean conservation. On the nose, it presents a rich yet dry profile, with notes of malt bread, sultanas, dried figs, and a touch of pipe tobacco, all underscored by briny maritime elements. The palate is creamy and bold, shifting from sweet richness to salty, smoky intensity, with hints of peppery spice and ripe figs. The finish is long, warming, and lightly drying, leaving behind a smoky-fruity aftertaste. CLUB TASTING NOTES "I’ve smelt a soap like this before. Nothing wrong with it, it’s just the sea breeze. The taste is a bit rough. Finish, not the most pleasant." "Noice! Medium finish, salty and delicious, not to be confused with sodden biscuits." "Great example of Talisker costal peat nose, nice layers of sweet distillate below. Strong palate of same - strong peat - but finish is unremarkable."
