Longrow Red 11 years Tawny Port

Score: 77

You’re looking at smoked raspberries, dried figs, and earthy oak, with a thick, oily texture that carries both bonfire grit and berry compote sweetness. There’s a maritime edge too—think sea spray and leather jackets—wrapped in a haze of port-soaked smoke. It’s not subtle, but it’s not chaos either. Just big, chewy Campbeltown character with a wine-cask grin. Definitely one for those who like their drams loud, smoky, and a little bit wild. CLUB TASTING NOTES "Thin, light oil, sharp" "There a moment in a young man's life when he realises why he wants to impress, to peacock in his own way, to grow last a boy to a being. This whisky will do that to you straight away. Do not let anyone under the age of 16 smell it. The nose is so warm and the road after that is one straight heaven. Delightful. " "Excellent nose with the base spirit intact but surrounded by intense dunnage musk, port notes, coffee and dark chocolate. More nip and intensity on the palate - lovely citrus notes though on the development. 4-5 ml of water only improves it by settling some of the intensity and letting the flavours breathe. Grain notes emerge. A little more time and water, the you start to catch the earth peat notes as well. Superb blend of spirit and cask influence"
