The NZ Whisky Dunedin DoubleWood 18 Year Old is a bit of a local legend—a blend of 70% single malt and 30% grain whisky from the now-closed Willowbank Distillery in Dunedin. It spent 6 years in ex-bourbon barrels, then a bold 12-year finish in French oak red wine casks, which is unusually long for a secondary maturation. Tasted at a seperate tasting and also when in Oamaru at the distillery. This is a fantastic drop that deserves attention.
