Finlaggan Red Wine Cask Matured is an Islay single malt Scotch whisky bottled by The Vintage Malt Whisky Company. It’s matured exclusively in red wine hogsheads sourced from the Rioja region of Spain and bottled at 46% ABV without chill filtration. The distillery source remains undisclosed, consistent with the Finlaggan range. This expression is often noted for its bold peat character balanced by subtle fruit influences from the wine cask. A bit of a 'meh' whisky, the club were not to over enthusiastic about this bottle. I guess it represents great value, but apart from that there is nothing special here.
