Glenfiddich Fire and Cane
Score: 60
Glenfiddich Fire & Cane entered the tasting as a curious wildcard, part of the Experimental Series, blending lightly peated malt with a Latin rum cask finish. On paper, it promised a bold fusion of campfire smoke and toffee sweetness, and the nose delivered: “a complex and layered aroma,” with hints of black cherry, dark chocolate, and orange zest. The palate followed suit, balanced and intriguing, but the finish faltered. That final twist left the club unconvinced. Ultimately, it came last in its tasting. Not for lack of ambition, but because it didn’t quite land the execution. As it is, it's a bit too thin and weak to fully convince.” In a lineup of robust, character-driven whiskies, Fire & Cane felt like a sketch of something bolder, a whisky with potential, but not enough punch to hold its ground.
